Chandigarh’s dust situation in April and May is something people who haven’t lived here don’t quite anticipate. The combination of construction across the tricity, dry air, and wind from the plains creates a specific kind of fine grit that settles into every surface of a car — the paint, the Continue Reading
Relocation horror stories from Chandigarh follow a pattern. A company quoted low over the phone, arrived with fewer people than needed, took twelve hours instead of six, then produced a final invoice with charges for “extra items,” “stair handling,” and “material cost” that pushed the total well past what was Continue Reading
May in Chandigarh and the AC stops working at 2 PM on a Saturday. Outside temperature is 43 degrees. This is not a hypothetical — it happens every year to someone, usually because the unit wasn’t serviced before summer started and something that was wearing out quietly through the winter Continue Reading
Screen cracked. It always happens the day after you told yourself you’d buy a cover. Or the day before something important. In any case, you’re holding a phone with a shattered display and trying to figure out whether to go to the official service center or the guy in the Continue Reading
Wedding season in Chandigarh means something very specific at the dry cleaners. Heavy embroidered salwar kameez, sherwanis, bridal lehengas that weigh more than a small child. That’s not available everywhere. The city’s cultural depth in music and dance — Continue Reading

Picked it up at 7 PM, turned out the writing was misspelled, the fondant had cracked from the fridge, and the flavour — listed as “chocolate truffle” — tasted more like cocoa powder mixed with vegetable shortening. Continue Reading
Most people in Chandigarh learn to drive from a relative. Father teaches son in an empty parking lot near Sukhna Lake on a Sunday morning. This works — until it doesn’t. And the thing about bad driving habits is you don’t know you have them until you’re on the highway Continue Reading
A Labrador puppy costs between ₹8,000 and ₹25,000 in Chandigarh depending on where you buy and who bred it. That’s a wide range. The difference isn’t just pedigree — it’s the shop, the breeder’s ethics, whether the puppy has been vaccinated, dewormed, and socialized before you take it home. Get Continue Reading
